Description

IV-VI and IV-VI2 semiconductors are special materials used to make electronic devices, like infrared lasers and detectors. These materials can have their electrical properties changed by adding tiny amounts of other atoms, which makes them more useful for different jobs. Since these materials are used in many devices, scientists are always looking for new types of semiconductors and ways to improve the ones we already have. One way to change these materials is by adding small impurities, a process called “doping.”
